Object Name Poem
Scope & Content Each schoolday it greets me
This river I treasure
Companion to me
In my labor and leisure

Its blue gives me strength
When my eyes are so weary,
When little ones fret me,
Its waters how cheery!

I love the wee dock
Where a boat waits for sailing;
I thrill to the gulls
And the storms' gusty wailing

Forever, my heartbeat
Shall leap to the flowing
Of meadow grass rippling
And golden marsh glowing.

Oh, Lord, Thou art good--
A most glorious Giver
Some look to the hills
But I look to my River!
